Agriculture Department organises District Level Seminar in Anantnag

Anantnag, Mar 29: District level seminar / conference was today organized by Agriculture Department at Dak Bangalow Khanabal. The ADDC. Anantnag Reyaz Ahmad Sofi was the chief Guest on the occasion.
The agricultures officers and experts of the department awared the farmers about contingency majors and plan related to technology, land soil water crop or institutional and policy based, which is implemented on real time weather pattern in any crop growing season. To ensure better performance of crop during seasonal drought or early need and terminal drought enhance performance improve productivity and income.
The Experts also highlighted on the need to minimize damage the horticulture crops produce, physical damage to live stock, poultry and fisheries sector and ensure effective performance transfer food security at village level.
The ADDC Anantnag on the occasion stressed for taking necessary majors for availability of 50 to 60% follow the alternate wetting the crop season within a week’s time and to identify the areas where availability of 50% water facility to tackle the drought hit irrigation at critical stages. He emphasized on the need for cultivation of vegetables, early spring planting to harvest before summer heat and early fall planting to harvest before winter sets in. He directed the agriculture department to prepare contingency plan for the district to tackle with the situation.
Among others the camp was also addressed by CAO Aijaz Ahmad Raina,District Agriculture officer Anantnag,Mohd Saleem Rather, SDAO’s and other field experts of the department.
