J&K Police organises lecture on ‘Unbundling Leadership Potential’

Jammu, Mar 26: A guest lecture titled “Unbundling Leadership Potential” was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground here today.
The Guest Speaker was Prof. Ramnath Narayanswamy, Professor Economics & Social Sciences, IIM Bangaluru. The lecture was attended by Dr. Ashok Bhan, IPS, DGP (Retd.), S.J.M Geelani, IPS, Director Vigilance, Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, IPS, Director SKPA Udhampur, J.P Singh, IPS, IGP (Pers.) PHQ, Surinder Kumar, IPS, Director SSG, Alok Kumar, IPS, IGP Security, J&K, Anand Jain, IPS, IGP (Hqrs.) PHQ, a galaxy of Police Officers, 30 KAS probationers from J&K IMPA with Faculty, Faculty/Students from Business School, Jammu University and Central University Jammu.
Prof. Ramnath Narayanswamy in his lecture stressed upon discovering one’s Vision & Values which he said lead towards the purpose of life. It is not important to focus on what other people are doing but it is important to focus on what we are doing, he added. He also quoted various personalities including Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Steve Jobs for achieving greater success despite facing failure, on occasions.
Giving various examples of his vast experience Prof. Ramnath had a lively interaction with the Students and participants.
Earlier, while welcoming the guests V.K Singh, IPS, Spl. DGP (Hqrs) PHQ said that it is a great honour and privilege for Jammu and Kashmir Police to present Prof. Ramnath Narayanswamy and added that he had the rare opportunity of attending, a five-day course at IIM Bangaluru on ‘Creativity, Reinvention and Self -Development for Practicing Managers’ which was conducted by Prof. Ramnath. Special DGP said that he was greatly inspired by expertise of Prof. Ramnath Narayanswamy on leadership. He also gave a detailed career introduction of Dr. Ramnath Narayanswamy. The guest lecture will continue tomorrow as well.
