Police arrests timber smugglers in Handwara

 

Srinagar, Mar 22: Handwara police on Thursday has arrested three timber smugglers and seized a vehicle laden with illegal timber in Zachaldara village of Handwara town of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The spokesman said on specific information, a police party of Police Post Zachaldara, Handwara led seized a Sumo bearing registration numbers JK09-0971, laden with illegal timber at Zachaldara.
The smugglers were identified as Ghulam Rasool son of Sheir Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Ramzan Lone son of Abdul Gani Lone and Mohammad Ashraf Rathi son of Mir Mohd, all residents of Yamlar Zachaldara, Handwara.
In this regard, a case FIR number 77/2018 under section 379 RPC, 06 Forest Act was registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation were taken up.
