Vigilance files charge sheet against former DGM JKPCC

Srinagar, Mar 20: Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against Suresh Kumar Rekhi then DGM, JKPCC, son of Om Parkash Rekhi, resident of 35/2, Channi Himmat Jammu who according to the organizations has misused his official position.
In a statement, Vigilance said that they filed a charge sheet in case FIR No. 12/2013 P/S VOJ under section 5(1) (c) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006 BK, 12/14, 13/15 Public men and Public Servant Declaration of Assets and other Provisions Act 1983 r/w 168 & 120-B RPC against for ‘misusing his official position and earned huge amount of money through illegal means by way of commission from contractors and suppliers by even compromising the quality of work and thereby raised huge assets disproportionate to his known source of income’.
“During secret verification conducted into the allegations has revealed that Suresh Kumar Rekhi, DGM, J&K Project Construction Corporation, JKPCC by indulging in corrupt and illegal practices has amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Luxurious vehicles like TATA Safari, CRV Honda and latest Electric and Electronic gadgets etc were found accumulated by the accused, in addition, it was found that the accused has visited foreign country 11 times which includes US & UK. Further, it was found that his daughter was studying in U.K. Northampton University. The accused and his family spent lacs of rupees on foreign tours and clubs etc,” the statement added.
“For the above acts of omission and commission on the part then DGM Suresh Kumar Rekhi Case FIR No. FIR No. 12/2013 U/s 5(1) (e) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act was registered and investigation started. Upon the conclusion of investigation the challan of the said case has been produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu against Suresh Kumar Rekhi and his wife Kumud Rekhi,” the statement said.
