Police organises plantation drive at DPL Sopore

Srinagar, Mar 20: A plantation drive was held by Sopore police at DPL Sopore. The dignitaries present on the occasion were Forest Conservator North Kashmir Irfan Rasool Wani, SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh Mehta, DySP DAR Gh Mohiudin, DySP PC Sopore Vikram Singh, Assistant Commandant CRPF-177 Manish Kumar, Assistant Commandant SSB-13BN Shakti Singh, DFO Langate Mohammad Ayoub Pandit, DFO Kamraj Mehboob Ali Shah, Range Officer Rafiabad Abdul Qayoom, Range Officer Abdul Majeed SHO Tarzoo Sabzar Ahmad and other police officers from Sopore planted Deodar trees during the drive.
About 500 trees mainly Devdar were planted in this drive.
SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh Mehta said that the aim of this drive was to make people in general and students in particular aware about the importance of environment and its conservation.
SSP also elaborated the importance of plantation. He also highlighted the importance of trees in human life. He also exhorted upon the students to inculcate the habit of planting trees.
