Secretary TA reviews tribal sub-plan for Anantnag, Kulgam

 

Anantnag, Mar 19: The Secretary Tribal Affairs J&K, Salma Hameed today chaired a Tribal Sub-Plan meeting to review the progress of various developmental activities under Special Central Assistance (SCA) in the scheduled tribe habitations of Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
Threadbare discussions were held on issues pertaining to the development of Bakarwal Chek and Manzmoh as Cluster Tribal Model Villages with all the requisite facilities and infrastructure, under Tribal Sub Plan 2017-18.
The meeting was informed that classes in the Eklaviya Model Residential School, Salia shall commence by the April end this year. Further, in Anantnag, developmental works worth Rs. 87.40 lakhs have been completed by PHE Department, while as R&B has expended Rs. 170 lakhs on road connectivity in the tribal areas of the district. It was also given out that RDD has taken up 17 works costing Rs 100.62 lakhs, out of which an amount of Rs. 54.94 has been spent so far.
It was also revealed that the PDD has completed works worth Rs 8.48 lakhs against the total work cost of Rs 19 lakhs. The department has to augment the power infrastructure at Bakerwal Chek for the said cost.
It was given out that 15 sheep units have been established and an amount of Rs 9.07 lacs have been spent so far in the tribal areas of the district.
