Arrangements for Navroz finalized in Budgam


Budgam, Mar 19: Arrangements for the ensuing auspicious festival of Navroz Alam in district Budgam were finalized today in a meeting convened under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik.
Among others, the meeting was attended by officers from Planning Department, PDD, PHE, FCS&CA, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, ARTO, Cooperatives and Municipal Committees.
Speaking during the meeting, the DDC directed the fisheries department to ensure availability of trout fish for sale at the designated locations. In addition, the department will also keep available Carp fish for interested consumers. He also urged the concerned to have mobile sale centres.
The DDC laid emphasis to ensure availability of “Nadru” for sale through mobile vans at remote locations.
The concerned Municipal Committees were instructed to conduct pre-festival and post-festival special cleanliness drives and initiate proactive measures for the dumping of garbage and other waste.
Urging the CMO to ensure availability of staff and ambulances at all sub-centres, the DDC with regard to availability of ration directed AD Food to ensure supply of ration including other essentials at all centres.
During the meeting, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Registrar Co-operative informed that both the departments have made available the sufficient number of chickens for consumption.
During the meeting, the DDC also directed Department of PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply during the festival period.
To check illegal profiteering and hoarding in the markets the DDC directed revenue officers to constitute squads who will monitor the proceedings in the markets.
