Secy Education reviews functioning of School Education Deptt

 

Budgam, Mar, 16: After leaving from Jammu Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah directly headed from Srinagar International Airport towards the Conference Hall of DDC Budgam along with Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo to attend a conference of Head of the Institutions and School Administration of the District and took review of the Education Sector.
Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah directed all the head of the Institutions to make Cleanliness Week from 20th March 2018 a success and passed necessary directions in this regard. He said that this drive will make sure the cleanliness of schools and develop a sense of maintaining cleanliness among students in their surroundings. He directed all the teaching fraternity to make sure to provide quality education to the students and make sure the completion of syllabus in time. He directed all the concerned to provide the requisite facilities for studies and for the sports activities for the students.
Secretary Education stressed on teachers to make sure the 100% attendance of students and do necessary steps in this regard. He said that according to board norms students with less than 66% attendance will not be allowed to sit in the examinations.
During the conference Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo briefed Secretary Education about the strengthening of the basic infrastructure, to make sure the 100% attendance of students in schools, sports activities of the students, providing of free books and uniforms to the students and providing of training to teachers in the District.
Secretary Education also directed all the concerned agencies to expedite the construction works in the schools so that the works are completed within the stipulated time.
He also reviewed the functioning of Gujjar bakerwal Hostel in the District. He directed all the schools to lay stress on moral education during the daily morning assemblies. In this regard Director School Education Kashmir informed Secretary that necessary directions in this regard have already been issued.
Presenting a short overview on Education Sector District Development Commissioner Budgam Muhammad Haroon Malik brought many important issues into the notice of Secretary Education. He highlighted the low literacy rate in the District and suggested some measures in this regard. He said that District Budgam is famous for its Tourist spots and cultural richness.
The conference was attended by all the Head of the Institutions, administration and other concerned officers.
