Kacho reviews pace of work on dev projects Stresses for timely completion, strict adherence to quality parameters

Kargil, Mar 9: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan today reviewed the pace of work on various key projects in the district.
During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on the physical and financial status of the execution of projects under AMRUT, 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang, Council Secretariat, construction of Girls Hostel at Jammu and other related projects. Land compensation cases, the current status of power supply from Chutuk Hydel Project, introduction of Arabic and Purgi languages in schools, besides several other issues also came up for discussion.
Executive Councillor for Education Advocate Muhammad Amir, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Hussain, Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs Tenzin Sonam, Deputy Commissioner Haji Gulzar Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Imtiaz Kacho, Chief Engineer NHPC Kargil, Superintending Engineer PWD Kargil, besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
It was given out in the meeting that development of three parks at Baroo, Shair Bagh and Bemathang is in the full swing at a cost of two crore 90 lacs while as projects worth Rs 37 crores including septage management and procurement of machines for Kargil town, up gradation/ laying of distribution network for water supply scheme Kargil Town and laying of raw water main and construction of reservoir, rapid sand filtration plant for Kargil town Phase 1st and Lift Scheme Kargil Town is also underway, which are expected to be completed in near future.
While reviewing the status of power generation form Chutak Hydel Project, the CEC directed the concerned to constitute a committee headed by the Executive Councillor Power to ascertain the factual position of power generation from the project. He also directed the officers of NHPC and PDD to work in tandem and close coordination to ensure that the people get a satisfactory power supply.
The CEC also directed the Chief Engineer NHPC to furnish the factual details/ technical data of power generation from Chutak Project during winter months so that the Hill council can take up the matter with regard to the operationalization of all 4 turbines of the project. He was further directed to complete the restoration works of the 4 irrigation khuls around the project under CSR by 21st March 2018, besides to kick start the works under the 2nd phase in consultation with I&FC Department Kargil.
Underlining the importance of the 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang, the CEC impressed upon the concerned officers to start the work on the project in due course of time out of the already released funds to the tune of two crore 90 lakhs. While reviewing the status of the pace of ongoing works at the Council Secretariat Kargil, Kacho directed the Executive Engineer concerned to complete all the remaining works like the construction of leakage proof flat roofing and other related construction works well within the stipulated period of time.
