New Delhi: In an incident that will make passengers think twice about saying anything suspicious while flying, a woman was detained at New Delhi’s IGI airport after she uttered the word bomb while getting frisked. If you’re still not convinced about it, then think of what happens to Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the woman, who had reached the airport four hours before the scheduled departure of her flight to Kolkata, was subjected to multiple rounds of interrogation and could not board her flight.
The woman had reached the airport at 1 am for a 4.55 am flight. After approaching security, she reportedly said, “Aap kya check kar rahe ho, mere paas bomb hai?” (What are you checking? I have a bomb?) to a CISF officer.
The officials immediately alerted her seniors who then reached the sport and took her away for interrogation with her co-passenger. Meanwhile, her baggage was offloaded. After hours of grilling and inspecting the bags, nothing was found. So she was handed over to the local police, who made an entry in their diary and then let them go.
The flight, however, was delayed due to the incident as security felt the need to examine the airline for anything suspicious once again.
The CISF, which is responsible for the security of airport across country said they have to take such incidents seriously.
“Security of airport is of utmost important and such instances are treated as possible threats.
