Operation continues to rescue 3 missing persons in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 25: A massive rescue operation was going on to trace three persons who are missing since Saturday after they were buried under a huge snow avalanche in the woods in north Kashmir district of Kupwara.
There was no trace of missing person who were reportedly buried under a huge snow avalanche yesterday, an official of Police Control Room (PCR) said over phone from Kupwara.
He said three local residents who had gone for hunting in Lashkote forest of Dardpora Lolab yesterday had come under snow avalanche. Since the area is very far from here on the border line of Kupwara and Bandipora forest, rescue teams of police and other security forces besides locals are on job the trace the missing persons. So far there is no message about the missing persons, he said. He said the entire area received fresh snowfall during the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE), medium danger avalanche warning has been issued for Baramulla, Gulmarg, Furkian-Z Gali, Kupwara-Chowkibal-Tangdhar and Bandipora during the next 24 hours.
