Srinagar, Feb 23: Daughter of sitting MLA Asgar Ali Karbalai died on Friday, 14-days after she suffered severe burn injuries in an accidental gas cylinder blast at her Gandi Nagar, Jammu residence.
Zainab Karbalai suffered 70 per cent burn injuries in the blast on the night of February 9 and was taken to GMC Jammu from where she was airlifted and admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.
After battling for 14-days she succumbed Friday, an official said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and senior National Conference leaders including Farooq Abdullah among others condoled the demise and expressed sympathies with bereaved family particularly Karbalai.
In a statement, Mehbooba has expressed grief over the demise of the daughter of MLA, Kargil, Asgar Karbalai, who passed away today at Mumbai.
The Chief Minister has conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief over the tragic death of the daughter of Karbalai.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
The NC President and the Working President conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Other National Conference leaders also conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. (GNS)
