Will resign if CUK shifted from Ganderbal: MLA Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Feb 14: The people of Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir have expressed serious concern over the reported move of the Government to shift the Central University campus from Ganderbal to some other area. Criticizing the move the Civil Society Members of Ganderbal held a meeting here on Tuesday, in which MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar assured the members of Civil society that he will resign if he fails to prevent it from getting shifted to some other place.
The meeting was attended by MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar besides other renowned personalities of Ganderbal which include Dr Khurshid Qureshi, Mohammad Sultan Shaheen, Advocate Abid Jeelani, Advocate Umer Rashid, Dr parvaiz Reshi , Irfan Naqshbandi, Farooq Ganderbali and others.
The people of the area say that crores of rupees have been spent on the construction of various structures of Central University Campus including leveling and fencing of land identified in the district since a decade and this sudden decision of the government to shift the campus means that this entire public money has gone down the drain.
The members of the civil society Ganderbal urged upon the government to consider the expenditure that has been made till now at Tulmulla Ganderbal and that any attempt at shifting the campus to some other place will take another decade for its establishment and that way it will surely affect the studies of students.
MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar assured the members of civil society that he is continuously following the issue and he will resign if he fails to prevent it from getting shifted from Ganderbal to some other place.
