Beerwah, Feb 7: National Conference leader and political secretary to working president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Tanvir Sadiq Wednesday termed PDP BJP government a rudderless ship and asked them to introspect as situation in the valley is fast deteriorating with every passing day.
“The current regime in its lust to remain in power has compromised with everything from providing a sense of security to ensuring basic necessities to people. The audacious attack in Srinagar’s premier hospital in which two policeman lost their lives is a grim reminder of how bad the situation in Kashmir is. Thanks to the ineptness of Mehbooba Mufti government, now even our hospitals are not safe,” Tanvir said while addressing a workers meeting in Narbal Beerwah.
“The CBMs that this government talked about are nowhere to be seen. The rosy talk that PDP and its leadership talked about before taking the reigns of power has been dumped and ditched. Instead what we see on ground is a Chief Minister who is meek, helpless and shamelessly looks upto BJP government in centre to bail her out. In this alliance of north and south pole, Mehbooba Mufti has tragically been reduced to a rubber stamp CM,” he said.
Taking potshots at PDP BJP government for its false claims and monumental failures, Tanvir said, “From South to North Kashmir, the situation has reached to such alarming levels that people now hesitate to participate in mainstream political activities. The state, unfortunately, is fast slipping towards the horrors of 90’s which we all are witness to.”
“There is huge dejection among people, who are craving for basic human needs. The various schemes like Food Security Act have failed and the people are running from pillar to post for quality food grains. The sugar quota to rationees has been stopped. Not only this, the promises of employment and ensuring basic minimum necessities to the people have proven hoax,” Tanvir said adding that the chaotic situation is entirely of PDP and BJPs making.
Blaming the incumbent government of a massive spike in militancy related incidents, Tanvir said, “The data that was presented by the CM herself in the assembly is freighting and should ring alarm bells within the power corridors from Srinagar to New Delhi. The massive surge in militant ranks in last two to three years point to the fact, compared to last two decades of militancy in Kashmir, that the current situation is the worst.” (KNS)
