Oppn members, BJP legislator stage walkout from LC on recruitment issue

 

Jammu, Feb 6: The members from the opposition National Conference and Congress on Tuesday staged a walkout from the Legislative Council on the issue of the recruitment in various state government departments.
Replying to the question raised by the NC MLC Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, Minister of State, Priya Sethi informed to the House that during last two years around 21.5 thousand selections have been made by the recruiting agencies to various government departments.
The Minister further said that 132 selections have been made in various autonomous bodies under administrative control of the departments.
Besides, the interventions and subsequent clarifications by Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, the opposition members while expressing dissatisfaction over the reply, alleged that no proper procedure has been adopted by the government in the recruitment procedure.
They further alleged that the State Public Service Commission has been adopting discriminatory attitude towards the aspirants of Jammu region in selection to various posts.
However, BJP MLC Vibodh Gupta also protested and staged walkout from the Upper House after he did not get satisfactory reply from the government on recruitment in a separate question as the member alleged discriminatory attitude being adopted by the government in recruitment process for Jammu region.
