Man, woman with ‘political connections’ push Kulgam girls into flesh trade, alleges victim

Srinagar, Feb 4: A girl from Kulgam district has alleged that girls from south Kashmir are being lured into flesh trade by a woman and a man, who have got strong “political connections.”
The victim while talking to reporters said, “One of the girl’s of the area became friendly with me and her mother lured me into this dirty racket. She took me to her house one day and her mother added some pills in my tea due to which I fell unconscious.” She alleged: “When I was unconscious I was raped by a man and the entire act was video-graphed. The woman and her accomplice told me that if I disclose anything to anyone the video will be uploaded on the Facebook.”
“After recording that video she started black mailing me. I was sent to Jammu and made to stay in a hotel at Machi market. I visited Jammu five to six times and every time I was raped,” she alleged.
She said that she couldn’t even reveal her ordeal to her parents as she was being threatened that her video would be uploaded on the Facebook.
While naming a person, who used to supply the girls to the customers, she said,
“The politician frequently used to call her (the pimp),” she revealed.
She alleged that a woman, who had lured her into the sex racket asked her twice to visit a politician but “I refused.” “The politician was in constant touch with the woman and she used to visit him during the odd hours in the night,” the girl alleged.
She demanded that matter should be investigated fully so that other girls are saved from facing the trauma she underwent.
On being asked can she identify the people who raped her she said, “Yes.”
“I am thankful to Kulgam police for helping me,” she added.
Meanwhile, Kulgam Police have registered a case under FIR No. 27 U/S 363, 120-B and have arrested three people including two females in connection with the sex racket.
SSP Kulgam, Sridhar Patil told Precious Kashmir that investigation are going on in the case and the people identified by the girl have been arrested. “We are verifying the statement of the girl and are working on the details provided to us by her.”
