New Delhi, Dec 29: Congress president Rahul Gandhi today reflected on the results of the assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh and said that the party needs to forge a strong bond with the masses and work towards spreading the inclusive ideology of the Congress.
Terming the elections in Gujarat a learning experience, Rahul said that the Congress party proved it can stand united and give a tough fight to its opponents.
“One thing I learnt from Gujarat is we can fight with one voice together. The party united and fought well. I agree that the same didn’t happen in Himachal Pradesh. But, one thing we should all remember is, a good politician is one who resonates with the people,” he said.
Addressing the party workers in Himachal Pradesh, Rahul said that the party’s aim is to promote the ideology of love and respect.
Terming unemployment as the main issue plaguing the nation, the Congress leader said that India’s main competition is with neighbouring China when it comes to creating job.
The Congress president also said that people working for the party and against the ideology of BJP will be promoted by the Congress party.
“There are many in our party who are always work for people. Those are the kind of people we need to push forward. We will do this systematically. Now that we are in the opposition, this is a great opportunity for the youth to strongly fight for people’s rights”, he said.
