‘Hope Govt will fulfill its assurances’
Srinagar, Dec 29: Welcoming the regularization process initiated by the government, the Jammu and Kashmir Casual/Daily wagers Forum (JKCDF) Friday hoped that the state government will fulfill the assurances made with them.
Addressing a news conference here at Lala Rukh, president of the Forum, Sajad Ahmad Parray said, “The regularization process initiated by the government is a welcoming step and has brought relief to the families of thousands of casual and daily wagers.” He said that the thousands of families of causal labours, daily wagers and others are thankful to the government especially Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Haseeb A Drabu for initiating the process of regularization. “It is just a beginning of the regularization. The process has just begun,” he quoted the government as saying.
“We met the government prior to the announcement and they assured us that all our demands will be fulfilled soon. They made agreement with us and said that all the demands will be fulfilled,” he said, adding that they also raised the query regarding the employees who lost their lives while working. “We will also take some favorable step form,” he quoted the government as saying.
He said that the government also assured them that those left out this time will also be added in their list soon. “The government also assured us that we will also be given the benefits at par with class IV employees,” Parray said.
The forum also thanked the government for initiating such process.
However, the forum threatened to state protest again in case the government failed to fulfill the assurances. (KNS)
