Kupwara youth aghast over ‘improper share’ in teacher recruitment

Srinagar, Dec 28: The residents of Kupwara are up in arms against the government for ‘failing to provide them proper share in the teacher posts vacant in the department’.
The unemployed youth from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district said that the list issued by the government reads that the number of posts for teacher from Kupwara district is less than other districts of the state, which according to them is sheer injustice. “Only 38 posts will be filled from the Kupwara district, which is less than the other districts,” they said.
Meanwhile Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Fayaz Ahmad Mir raised the issue with the concerned minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari at Jammu at Jammu today.
The Minister for Education assured Mir that in the coming time, the district will be given proper share in the teacher recruitment. “The department is going to recruit at least 11000 teachers in the coming time and proper share will be given to the Kupwara district,” Bukhari assured Mir. (KNS)
