Cong asks Govt to withdraw notification

 

Srinagar, Dec 27: Congress Wednesday asked the State Govt to withdraw the notification barring State Employees to use Social Media, describing the that new anti-people directive of the State Govt as direct attack on the freedom of expression and freedom of speech which is very unfortunate deserves strong condemnation
In a statement, JKPCC Spokesperson criticized the State Govt for barring employees from using Social Media, which has become a part of the system all over the world, saying that the new media gag was indicative of dictatorial mindset of the PDP BJP Coalition.
Adding that on the one hand State Govt is claiming that situation has improved considerable in the valley and on the other hand people are not being allowed to express their freedom of expression and freedom of speech, the Spokesperson termed the gag as anti-people, undemocratic and unethical and asked the Govt to withdraw the notification in the larger interest of democracy.
The Spokesperson emphasized that Govt must take effective measures to restore confidence of the people rather than creating more problems for the people. (KNS)
