Srinagar, Dec 27: The state government on Wednesday appointed former MLA from North Kashmir’s Bandipora District Nizamuddin Bhat as new Vice Chairman of J&K Wakf Board.
Nizamuddin Bhat, who is also Party’s State General Secretary, defeated his rival in 2008 election, but he faced defeat from Congress MLA in 2014 assembly Election.
People of Bandipora hailed government’s decision of nominating Nizamuddin Bhat as VC Wakf Board.
On the hand Party’s District Coordinator Inamul haq Bhat said that “We are very thankful to Mehbooba Mufti for appointing Nizam-ud-din Bhat as vice-chairman of Wakf Board, We hope the institution will further grow with Nizamuddin Bhat being on the chair,” he said.
Pertinently, the key position in the institution was vacant since last month after the resignation of Peer Muhammad Hussain. (KNS)
