Islamabad, Dec 17: Pakistan has said visa applications of the mother and wife of Kulbhusan Jadhav have been received and are being processed, days after it nixed India’s plea for consular access to the death row prisoner.
Taking to microblogging site Twitter, Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Muhammad Faisal on Saturday said, ”Visa applications of mother and wife of Commander Jadhav received for their visit on humanitarian grounds.”
The applications were “being processed” but did not give any time line for approval of visas, a report in Radio Pakistan said. Pakistan has allowed Jadhav to meet with his mother and wife on Dec 25, the FO spokesman had told a press briefing on December 8.
Jadhav was sentenced to death by a military court in Pakistan on the charges of espionage and terrorism.
