Banihal, Dec 10: National Conference District President Ramban Sajjad Shaheen on Sunday expressed anguish over denial of basic minimum facilities to the people, especially those living in the remote and far flung areas, saying the government has failed on front of deliverance despite making lofty promises.
“PDP-BJP has pushed the state to the wall”, Shaheen said during his interaction with the people while carrying out two-day tour of Neel Block of Banihal Assembly Constituency.
Shaheen held interactive sessions with the villagers at Chodwas, Bohardar, Thakur Basti, Gagoni, Koinhal, Madanhal, Batoo, Parihinder and Zarari and took stock of the problems faced by them. He assailed the coalition government for ignoring these areas and forcing people to suffer for the past over three years.
The District President said that the people are craving for power and drinking water facilities, especially in these months of winter but the administration seems to be in deep slumber which is evident from frequent and unscheduled power cuts for hours and scarcity of drinking water in most of the villages. He particularly made a mention of low voltage and erratic water supply that has been major irritant and sought immediate corrective measures to ensure utility services in these villages.
Shaheen said that the government has failed to remove bottle necks on Hewagan-Batto road and Parhinder-Zarari road due to which people are immensely suffering. He said road connectivity has received major dent under the coalition dispensation as a result of which mobility has hugely suffered.
During the tour several political activists especially from the BJP joined the National Conference.
Shaheen welcomed the new entrants in the party fold and said this will further strengthen National Conference at the grass roots level. He said that National Conference alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir from the present morass and ensure peace, progress and development. (KNS)
