Has been shifted to solitary confinement, alleges family
Srinagar, Dec 4: Senior separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah has reportedly developed heart ailment in Tihar Jail. Shah has also been shifted from cell No. 7 to cell No. 1 within the jail premises but has been allegedly moved to solitary confinement.
Shabir Shah’s spouse Dr. Bilquees Shah said over phone from New Delhi that Shah’s health has deteriorated due to ailment and non-availability of medical care.
She alleged that Shah has been sent to solitary confinement from last six days during which all the medical facilities have been stopped to him, which has further worsened his condition.
She said that after serving a contempt notice to jail authorities her husband was provided some medicine however, during last six days all kinds of medicine have been stopped leaving him at the mercy of God. She claimed that the jailed Hurriyat leader was taken to hospital only twice after court intervention where doctors diagnosed some heart ailments.
She however said that despite heart ailment the Safderjung Hospital has fixed the appointment for medical tests a month later. She said that the delay in medical examinations and the treatment thereof was a cause of worry for the family.
Meanwhile, Special ED court in New Delhi has rejected the bail application of businessman Mohammad Aslam Wani who was arrested by Enforcement Directorate.
