Police recover kidnapped minor girl from Punjab

Srinagar, Nov 28: Baramulla police recovered a kidnapped minor girl from Punjab and arrested two persons involved in the crime.
Police Station Kunzar received a complaint from Javed Ahmed Shah resident of Batpora Kunzer to the effect that his niece (name withheld) was kidnapped by one Arjun Singh resident of Punjab on 18th of this month. On receiving the complaint, a case FIR number 97/17 under section 363 was registered in the police station Kunzar and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation it came to fore that the accused namely Arjun Singh son of Nirmal Singh resident of Khizarpore Mukeriyan Punjab with the help of Tasleema Begum wife of Riyaz Ahmed Mir kidnapped the girl from Batpora Kunzer.
Subsequently a police party led by ASI Abdul Rashid under the supervision of SHO Kunzar Shri Waqar Yunis was deputed to Punjab. After the strenuous and joint efforts with Punjab police, the accused was arrested and the kidnapped girl was recovered from his possession.
The kidnapped girl was later handed over to her parents after completion of medical examination and other legal formalities. It is pertinent to mention here that the abettor Tasleema Begum who happens to be the maternal aunt of kidnapped girl was booked under section 109 RPC for the abetment to offences under section 363/376 RPC.
