Restrictions, shutdown in Kashmir; Rail service suspended  

Srinagar, Nov 27: Authorities on Monday imposed restrictions in different parts of Kashmir to thwart possible protests as Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for a shutdown to express solidarity with the detenues lodged in different jails within and outside the state.
Reports said that shops, business establishments, schools and financial institutions are closed and traffic is also off the roads.
“Restrictions under section 144 of CrPC are remain in force in Nowhatta, M.R.Gunj, Safa Kadal, Rainawari, Khanyar, Kralkhud and Maisuma areas” a police officer said.

The railway services in Kashmir have also been suspended as a “precautionary measure.”
