Merkel faces pressure for quick coalition talks

Berlin, Nov 27: Chancellor Angela Merkel faced pressure from inside her conservative bloc to aim for a quick coalition deal with center-left Social Democrats rivals, without conceding too much ground on core issues such as immigration.
According to reports, the leader of Germany`s Social Democratic Party (SDP) Martin Schulz said he will not stand in the way of his party forming a “grand coalition” with Merkel`s conservatives, signalling a potential end to a lengthy deadlock over the formation of a new German government.
