Army resorts to aerial firing in twin villages of Bandipora

Bandipora, Nov 21: Army soldiers resorted to aerial firing after they were attacked with stones in twin areas of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.
The army patrolling parties were attacked in Chandergeer and Sadarkot Bala and at both places they dispersed the protesters by resorting to aerial firing.
In Chandergeer area on Saturday, at least six Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in a gun fight. An Indian Air Force man was also killed in the attack.
Witnesses said that as the army soldiers entered Chandergeer and Sadarkot Baal area of Hajin town, dozens youth pelted stones on them. The youth raised pro-freedom slogans.
Meanwhile, a police official denied reports of aerial firing by army in these areas. (CNS)
