Real Madrid don’t fear PSG, says Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo on Thursday said that his side Real Madrid, who went down against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, do not fear Paris Saint Germain. The defending champions have chances of finishing second in Group H, which means that they might pit against a European powerhouse.
Having already qualified for the knockout stage with two matches remaining, PSG stand as a strong potential opponent in the last 16. However, Portugal captain Ronaldo says that they do not see the French team as a threat.
The four-time Ballon d’Or winner said to L’Equipe that he is not scared. “I’m not afraid of PSG. We’re the defending champions, two years in a row, we have to respect that. We would prefer to finish first in the group, but the most important thing first of all is qualification.”
Ronaldo has had a frustrating start to the season, scoring only one goal in LaLiga and six in the Champions League. Real Madrid stand eight points behind Barcelona in the domestic league and three points behind Champions League group leaders Tottenham.
Los Blancos have a derby clash on Saturday against Atletico Madrid and face Apoel Nicosia, Dortmund in their last two group stage clashes in the European tournament.
