NC, Cong express grief

Srinagar, Nov 17: National Conference on Friday expressed grief and sorrow over the killing of Sub Inspector Imran Ahmed Tak during a police operation in Zakura, Srinagar. Paying glowing tributes to the police officer, NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar and Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said the party stood in solidarity with the officer’s family and his colleagues in this moment of loss.
National Conference State Spokesperson Junaid AzimMattu visited District Police Lines, Srinagar on Friday evening and participated in the wreath laying ceremony of the martyred officer.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the NC State Spokesperson said the cycle of death and destruction in Kashmir continued to consume young lives and the need of the hour was to find a way forward to break the cycle of violence and destruction.
“We stand in solidarity with young martyred officer Sub Inspector Imran Ahmed Tak’s family and his colleagues. His sacrifice should not go in vain. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. We also pray for the speedy recovery of another SPO of the Police who sustained injuries in the attack”, Mattu said.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has strongly condemned the killing of SI Imran Tak in and injuries to SPO in a Militant attack at Zakura Srinagar today.
While mourning the killing of SI, the Party Spokesperson described the attack as highly condemnable and shameful and sought stern action against killers.
The Killings, in any form, are highly condemnable and must be condemned by every section of the people, the Spokesperson added.
The Party offered condolences to bereaved family and sympathized with them.
