‘Upgradation of road infra in rural areas Govt’s priority’

Jammu, Nov 16: With a view to increase road connectivity to the rural reaches of the constituency, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today launched works for construction of vented causeway (box type) culvert on BaloleNallah at Babliana Panchayat.
The culvert being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.25 crore will connect Roi Morh, Gadigarh Panchayat with Bishnah via Babliana Panchayat and Dharap Panchayat.
The works being executed by PWD(R&B) are expected to be completed by March next year.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that special focus has been laid for upgradation of road, power and other infrastructure in the rural belt of Gandhi Nagar constituency during the present tenure of the government. He said with these initiatives, the quality of life in rural, semi urban areas has seen a positive shift.
“Upgradation of Power infra and prioritizing the road connectivity is high on agenda. The aim is to improve the living standards and make best possible use of the funds provided by the union and state government”, the Speaker asserted.
Enumerating various welfare schemes, the Speaker asked the people to take maximum benefits of various schemes including PMUY, LadliBeti, State Marriage Assistance, PMAY, and many others.
