Pays obeisance, seeks immediate restoration of the shrine
Srinagar, Nov 16: National Conference President and Member of Parliament for Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday visited the shrine of Amir-e-Kabir, Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) Khanqah-e-Moula in Srinagar to assess damages to the shrine due to a tragic fire incident. Dr. Farooq Abdullah, accompanied by National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Muhammad Sagar, paid obeisance at the shrine and sought the immediate restoration of the damaged sections.
“Khanqah-e-Moula is the spiritual core of Kashmir and a rich repository of our spiritual and cultural history. The incident of fire here was heart wrenching and I commend the locals and the firefighters for playing an exemplary role to contain the fire and limit damage to the shrine. We are all indebted to them and salute them”, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said at Khanqah.
Dr. Farooq interacted with the Mujavirs of the shrine and took stock of the damage. Dr. Farooq Abdullah discussed the restoration of the shrine with MLA Khanyar and NC General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar and assured the devotees that no stone would be left unturned to restore the shrine to its pristine glory.
Various senior office bearers and activists of the party accompanied Dr. Farooq Abdullah to Khanqah-e-Moula and offered thanks to the Almighty for safeguarding the shrine.
