Fire breaks out at Khanqah-e-Moula shrine in Srinagar’s old city

Srinagar, Nov 14: Khanqah-e-Moula shrine in old city here caught fire on late Tuesday night, witnesses told Precious Kashmir.
They said fire emanated from top of the doom and flames engulfed the shrine in no time.  Residents of the area rushed to the spot and tried to douse the flames. Fire fighting was on when this update was filed.
Khanqah-e-Moula, popularly known as just Khanqah, is a mosque and a shrine of Said-ul-Auliya Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani located in old city on the right bank of the river Jhelum between the Fateh Kadal and Zaina Kadal bridges. First built in 1395 AD, it is one of the oldest mosques in the Kashmir Valley.
