‘PaK is part of J&K, an integral part of India’

Jammu, Nov 13: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said that PaK is part of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India in the wake of the recent statement of National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
“I would like to say that PaK is very much part of J&K and J&K is and should remain part of India,” Azad told reporters Monday afternoon.
On attacks on political workers, the Congress stalwart said, “Different political parties and politicians are having different views over J&K.”
Terming the thrashing and threatening of a Congress worker in south Kashmir, unfortunate, he said that this is one of dangerous trends reported across the country.
“I strongly condemn it and such things should not happen anywhere in the Country,” he added and said that killing of political workers across the country is most unfortunate these days whether in Kashmir or Kerala.
He further said that killing of political workers by militants or by workers of other political party was a most dangerous thing happening across the country and atmosphere in the country was very bad.
On a query regarding Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s meetings with Shia cleric over Ram Temple issue, Azad, “I don’t know who has authorised him to meet people over the issue, as the case is in the Supreme Court.”
Saying that he is not particularly targeting this gentleman (Ravi Shankar), Azad added that there were a number of self-styled leaders who were trying to fish in troubled waters. ”The Case is in the SC and let the Court decide,’’ he added.
When asked about preparation of Congress for Gujarat elections, the Congress leader said, “I would only request the Election Commission to conduct free, fair and fearless elections in Gujarat.”
“I am using three words – free, fair and without fear polls in Gujarat,” he asserted.
