KVJA holds elections: Bashir Lone elected as president

Srinagar: Kashmir Video Journalists Association (KVJA) Friday held it’s general body elections in Srinagar, to ensure free and fair process, some senior journalists were invited to supervise the process.

Bashir Lone of New Delhi based Television news channel (CNN News 18) was elected as president of the Video Journalist Association (KVJA), Fayaz Ahmed Latha of ANI network was elected as vice president while as Jehangir Aziz of ETV News was elected as General Secretary,

After his victory, Bashir lone (President) assured his members that he will take up the issues related to the Video Journalists at proper fora and ensure that they are resolved at the earliest.

He said that the media persons are facing lot of hardships in covering events in conflict zone of Kashmir and they need stand united to face such challenges, the members assured there complete support to the new office bearers.

KVJA thanks Shujaat Bukhari, Farooq Javed khan, Ishfaq ul Hassan and Shuja ul haq for sparing their time to free and fair conduct of elections.
